All spring long I hoped that the NBA would lock out, giving the Morris twins incentive to stay in school. Now that there is no chance of them returning for their senior campaign, my stance has changed. I absolutely don’t want the NBA to lock out.
I’m a die-hard NFL, soccer and college football and basketball fan. I’ll watch the NBA, but the only teams I take a particular interest in are the ones with former Jayhawks on them. Often, I get disgusted at the passionless play exhibited by NBA stars. Nevertheless, I don’t think a lockout would be good.

If you’re looking for the Notre Dame football coaches, look up. As the spring evaluation period kicks into gear, the Irish assistant coaches are taking to the sky as they blanket the country talking to a wide net of Irish prospects. If you’re looking for Irish recruiting news, you’ll probably do better here, here, here or here.
But for those curious as to what the actual NCAA Evaluation Period entails, let’s take a quick look at the actual guidelines as they’re laid out by our friends in Indianapolis:

With four games on hand for this 2011 Easter Sunday the Sixers held off the Heats 86-82 at home and force a Game 5 in Miami and avoided being swept lead by Iguodala with 16 points and Elton Brand who dropped in a solid 15 points, despite a game high 31 points from Lebron James. At the end of the 4th Quarter the sixes played great team defense and hit key shots to hold on for their first victory of the series after Lebron James missed what could of been the game winner(Next Game on Wednesday on TNT but the
Jake Locker is a player who has been projected anywhere from top ten to outside the first round, no one really has a grasp on where he will land.
The Dolphins are a team that could address a number of positions, including the running back and quarterback position.
Mark Ingram has been the popular choice among mock draft gurus for months now, but there are reports about teams being concerned about Ingram's knee that have started to push him further down draft boards.
With that, the Dolphins could be a wild card team that may look to pull the trigger

The Toronto Maple Leafs made great strides to becoming a contender late in the season, but we all know that they have more than a few needs before anyone considers them a serious Cup contender.
As we all know, the most serious need is a first line center, seconded by a offensive defenseman to replace Tomas Kaberle. We also need a player that can help improve one of the league's worst penalty kills last season.
The Leafs' website lists Mikhail Grabovski, Tyler Bozak, Tim Brent, Nazem Kadri as the centers on the Leafs roster. While Nazem Kadri can develop into

Eight national telecasts, including five night games, and extremely friendly travel requirements highlight the Eagles' 2011 schedule, which was unveiled by the NFL Tuesday night.
The Eagles will have a seven-week stretch from mid-October to a December 1st Thursday night game at Seattle where they won't even have to get on a plane.
However, they won't be playing the Buffalo Bills in Toronto, contrary to a report by a Toronto radio station Tuesday morning.
The Eagles open their season on Sept. 11 in St. Louis against the Rams, coached by former Eagles and Lafayette College assistant Steve Spagnuolo.

The NFL and players are scheduled to resume court-ordered mediation Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT in the downtown chambers of U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan, but a NFL Players Association spokesman said executive director DeMaurice Smith won't attend because of a family medical emergency.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will attend, heading a team that includes NFL general counsel Jeff Pash, Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Green Bay Packers CEO Mark Murphy.
Richardson and Bowlen co-chair the league's labor committee, on which Jones and Murphy also serve. Richardson attended the

Sarah Mercer showed the feistiness that should help her on the gridiron when asked about the possibility of the Lingerie Football League coming to Canada.
Mercer was among 40 women who took part in two practices with the Regina Riot — a female tackle football team — on the weekend at Mosaic Stadium. The Riot is to open its inaugural season in the Western Women’s Canadian Football League on May 22 in Regina.
The LFL was established in 2009. It features scantily clad and attractive women playing seven-on-seven tackle football. Last week, an unnamed expansion franchise was awarded to Toronto

Starting this June, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be in full rebuilding mode. General Manager Chris Grant is armed with four draft picks and a very large $14 million trade exception that will expire in July.
After losing LeBron James to Miami and suffering a 63-loss season, most fans probably said, “It can’t get much worse.”
Well that’s not the case.
Making poor draft choices and trades this summer could make the situation a lot worse.
With two high draft choices and a large majority of our team still under contract, I don’t see the Cavaliers getting worse.
But how

Welcome to the Forde Minutes Big Dance Edition, where we expand the names, games, teams and minutiae making news in college basketball from 40 to 68 (never-worn glass slippers sold separately at Northern Colorado (1) ):
Hoops gigantism
The operative number of the NCAA tournament has changed. Out with 65, in with 68. And although that number might conjure images of L.C. Greenwood for some, it has a very different meaning to The Minutes.
In particular, 68 evokes images of '68 -- as in 1968. And here in 2011, the link to that year brings college basketball full circle.
